why 1080 should be stopped weekly reflections T3 W2

Kia Ora, I think that 1080 should be stopped, do you think 1080 should be stopped?

Why 1080 Should Be Stopped

1080 is Killing our environment even killing Kiwis and other native animals, They need to stop they have to change their tactics, IT NEEDS TO STOP.
It’s killing all of our wildlife, 1080 can kill reptiles, birds, fish and insects as well as introduced mammals like pigs, deer and dogs.

What is 1080 is and why is it bad, 1080 is an artificial version of fluoroacetate, a naturally occurring chemical produced by many plants.

It horrifyingly kills pests & animals, surley can afford to make it so it does not torture them. On a farm there was a horse that died from 1080 and it took a long time for it to die, all of its veins were popping out of its body it had no body coordination they had to shoot it before it could die from 1080 when they found another horse that had already died from 1080 and it looked like its lungs have blown out of it mouth, it was underneath a pine tree and it was all messed up with branches underneath the tree.

I think that New Zealand should go back to possum trapping because they have more chance. I think that they should go with possum trapping instead of the inhumaine 1080. Here are some statistics of possum trapping (I tried to find some statistics of 1080 but there were none I could find), Possum trapping and 1080: In 1981, the best year for trappers, 3.2 million skins were exported. Trapping, poisoning and shooting has now reduced the possum population. But there are still about 30 million possums in New Zealand today.

1080 is a man-made version of fluoroacetate. It kills pets and can kill humans they dye 1080 green so that birds don’t eat it but if a pest or something eats it then a bird eats a we bit of the poisoned animal it will die, if a horse eats it i will take a long amount of time for the horse to die.
